5. What is Independent Study?
Independent study classes are available for selected classroom courses. Coursework is completed by the student at his/her convenience. Instructors provide an outline of course objectives and requirements to be completed within the duration of the course, up to 15 weeks. Students mail assignments to the instructor for grading. The instructor will administer the final examination to the student. Independent study offers learning flexibility for busy professionals enabling students to learn when and where it is convenient for them.
6. How do I get reimbursed for my class(es)?

7. How do I get a copy of my transcript?
You may request an unofficial transcript or an official transcript by completing the Transcript Request Form. An unofficial transcript is a listing of courses, credits and grades for your personal use. Complete the transcript request form and mark unofficial on it. To obtain an official transcript, which is stamped and signed, please complete a Transcript Request Form, mark "official transcript", and send it to Michigan Business Consultants with a check for the transcript request fee. MBC will forward the official transcript to the requested destination and will send a copy to the student. To protect students’ privacy and confidentiality transcripts will not be faxed.
8. When do I receive my grades?
Grades are mailed to the student ten days after the semester is over. Grades are not given over the phone or faxed to the student to assure their privacy.
9. Which AIB classes are transferable for college credit?
Students may request an official transcript to be sent to their college or university of choice by completing a Transcript Request Form. The college or university, at their discretion, will evaluate the transcript and determine the equivalency. Students may request an equivalency evaluation from their preferred college or university prior to taking AIB classes. Contact MBC to request a course description to present to the college.
10. How do I know what else I need to take to receive a diploma?
Diploma requirements are outlined in the course descriptions. A student may request an evaluation of their file for diploma eligibility by completing a Diploma/Certificate Application and check EVALUATION on the application. The student's course information, credit transfer reports, and any other information supplied by the student, are evaluated to ensure requirements are met. The diploma requirements will be reviewed and a copy of the transcript is sent to the student indicating the classes needed to complete the diploma requirements.
11. Can I have a class or seminar taught at my bank?

12. Who is MBC and why are they offering AIB programs?
Michigan Bankers Association, a "Local ABA Training Provider" for AIB, selected Michigan Business Consultants (MBC) to be their exclusive service provider for AIB programs in Michigan, beginning Winter 2005. MBC’s consultants have over 80 years of banking experience and have attended and instructed many AIB courses and currently teach at the MBA banking schools.
13. How are instructors selected?
AIB instructors are selected based upon experience, knowledge, education and a referral for teaching. Students evaluate their instructor, course, text, and site of their class midterm and at end of the class program. The evaluations are summarized and reviewed by MBC.
