Understanding Employee Right and Responsibilities - Program Outline

“Is it okay if I share a dirty joke at lunch time? We are off the clock.” “Jack gives the greatest shoulder messages, that can’t be sexual harassment. I enjoy it.” “Everyone equally participates in the discussions. We have a tight group. Sometimes it gets pretty explicit, but no one complains.” Are these situations sexual harassment, or not?

All employees have the right to work in a hostile free work environment. All employees also have the responsibility to help maintain a hostile free work environment. Your employees will learn what is acceptable and what is not in terms of verbal, visual and physical hostile work environments. They will also review your company policy in this short employee version, (usually time ranges from 60 – 90 minutes.)

What will be covered:

  • Harassment: Is it or isn’t it? (Instructor Led Examples)
  • Know the Law
    • EEOC Guidelines
    • Quid Pro Quo
    • Hostile Work Environment
  • Video Clip Review
  • Your Rights and Responsibilities
  • What Should You Do?

“We have a good team and sometimes when things get really busy we tend to talk and share jokes to lighten things up. I never thought about it offending anyone. This seminar made me more aware of how what I say and do can make others uncomfortable. It really opened my eyes!”
